AC Milan have no intention of letting go of star young forward Rafael Leao despite Jorge Mendes having offered him around, a report claims.
As Calciomercato.com notes, it has been an up and down season for the Portuguese star who arrived from Lille for an investment worth around €30m. The numbers – 6 goals and 3 assists in 31 games – and a strong end to the season means that many are excited to see what the 21-year-old can do next season.
The outlet adds that unless ridiculous offers arrive, Leao’s future will also be at Milan. The Rossoneri are convinced of the former Sporting forward’s ability to grow and develop, and the message Leao put himself on social media suggests he is happy to remain.
“I finish my first season in this great club with a win, we will go more next season,” he said next season.
Agent Jorge Mendes must now stand down, having offered Leao to Atletico Madrid and Wolverhampton when things were not going as well. Napoli and Juventus have also been linked, but they have chosen to focus on other objectives for the defence.
