CM: Messias finally ready to prove his worth – the background on his arrival at Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are finally ready to welcome Junior Messias into the fold exactly a month after his arrival from Crotone, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com writes that Messias arrived from Crotone for about €7.5m in total when factoring in the loan and the option to buy, and in terms of profile he is exactly the kind of player that Stefano Pioli wanted, being a playmaker who can also play as a winger.

The idea that the Rossoneri mangement had in mind from the moment an agreement was reached with Real Madrid to bring Brahim Diaz back was to sign a player who could let both the Spaniard and Alexis Saelemaekers catch their breath. Messias knows how to do both roles and, despite his age, he could be the missing piece to the attack.

He did not arrive in the best physical and athletic condition though and that is why he essentially needed the full cycle of individual training before joining the rest of the squad. He could be in the squad for the Atalanta game at long last, finally ready to try and prove his worth.
