CM: Messias suffers muscle problem against Real Madrid as exit talks continue

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan winger Junior Messias was forced to come off during the pre-season friendly against Real Madrid with a muscle injury, whilst talks continue about his departure.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, the Brazilian winger is going to be assessed in the next few hours to see how serious the muscle injury is.

He had to withdraw after just half an hour against Real Madrid in California. He was replaced by Luka Romero who very quickly scored a superb goal to put Italy 2-0 up.

If Messias has picked up a serious injury, that could cause issues for his expected departure from the club. There are talks ongoing with Torino about bringing Wilfriend Singo to Milan, with Messias going the other way.

It has not been ruled out that they could be two separate negotiations, but it is always harder to sell a player who is facing a long spell on the sidelines.

    1. If there was any advance likelihood of him being sold to Torino, he wouldn’t have been playing – that he was starting just proves that the rumour is speculation and not reality.

Also, we’re not guaranteed yet to see Chukwueze arrive, so until we are I guess the club has to plan as if he might not.

    2. A muscular issue won’t prevent a player from leaving. We took him because we were missing even many of our core starters.

  1. Taking him to US is utter stupidity when you are trying to get rid of him . Without injury we fund it difficult to sell him not to talk of when he is injured.
    He is so injury prone.
We need to sell him cause we need Musah, Theo back up and defender if Gabbia leaves .

    1. LOL. Injury prone.

There should be a drinking game where everyone needs to take a shot every time someone mentions “injury prone”. Boy, people would be wasted during the mercatos…
