CM: Milan already looking to make Abraham deal permanent – the situation

Tammy Abraham has only made a handful of appearances for AC Milan but the management already like what they see and they are looking into how to sign him permanently, a report claims.

In 2023 the window finished with the signing of Luka Jovic just before the summer window closed, and this year Milan announced the addition of Abraham from Roma on an initial loan deal, with Alexis Saelemaekers going the other way.

According to Calciomercato.com, Abraham has won over everyone at Milan in less than a month, from his team-mates to Paulo Fonseca, from the technical staff to the management. He made an impact less than two minutes into his debut against Lazio, and most recently against Inter he fought for everything.

The Englishman is already seen as fundamental for Milan because of the work he does for the team, linking up the departments and opening up space with his movement. Hid attitude in training is also exemplary and now he can be considered a starter alongside Alvaro Morata.

He arrived on a season-long loan for €1.5m but there was no option to buy inserted, a choice dictated by the little time available to close the deal but which does not change anything about Milan’s desire to focus on Abraham in the seasons to come.

Tammy feels the trust from the coach and management while he already has a great relationship with his team-mates and the fans. A meeting with Roma is set for the new year and the directors want to buy him permanently for €8-10m, given his deal runs out at the end of next season.

  1. I’m happy for Tammy, and hopefully, he signs permanently at the end of the season.
But, funny how it took only a couple of weeks for people to change their tune about him. All summer long they were writing nonsense that he is trash, finished player, Roma reject, they even complained that Milan paid extra 1.5m to swap loans with Saelemaekers like they are the same level players, they wanted Chiesa, a player that Milan didn’t need at all, but now they are complaining why Milan didn’t insert option to buy.
With one year left on his deal and his desire to stay at the club, Milan has all the leverage.

    1. He hasn’t been spectacular, for now he only showed good signs but also missed some good opportunities. He’s a fighter so good point and maybe he needs to adapt to the team. Just don’t hype him too much, there’s still time.

  2. There are still better options available. I like Tammy, his energy is good, his pace and his workrate but we need a striker who can finish (it ain’t Morata) when they get the chance. He really should have scored against Inter late on. Tight matches are won by strikers who can finish the one or two chances they may get.

Still Jonathan David for me….whicu will bite us as I think inter and Juve are now interested. Tammy still has the rest of the season to prove me wrong but I’m not 100% sold

    1. Well, the meeting is scheduled for the new year. By then, we’ll learn more, but if he is doing well, yes, we should be proactive. One of the problems with the signings of new players is that we take too long and other clubs snatch them, so if they start talking to Roma in January provided that Abraham remains fit and continues to do well, that’s not a bad move.

Rest assured, though, that Roma is unlikely to sell him for just 8-10M if he is doing well.

  3. For the player that Milan got on loan they say let’s wait for the season to end to see how it plays out, but Kalulu plays a couple of decent games and he is a great defender who Juventus will sell to the EPL for 50 mil, after we watched him for 4 years not being good enough to beat out Thiaw, Calabria and Florenzi for a starting position. 🤷‍♂️

  4. This is going to end up being the best Serie A signing of the year. He’s already paid off big time not just with his performance on the pitch but he brings great energy and positivity to this team. He has already become a leader on this team. Even after being taken off against Inter he was up on the sidelines encouraging his teammates and yelling for them to get back and defend. He is exactly what this team needs.

  5. I think Tammy has been excellent for the team. Maybe his finishing has been just OK, but his holdup play has been excellent. I think folks underestimated this aspect of Giroud’s game, the holdup and perfect touch on the 1-2, allowing a winger to get the extra bit of space to fire a shot against a packed defense. Tammy has it, too, plus the defensive work rate. It was almost like a 6 man midfield in defense, with the strikers dropping deeper at times defensively. I don’t know that the wingers and midfield stayed on the same page defensively when Inter’s WB + CB overload came forward, but it worked out, in large part because the 2 man midfield could shift to play wide defensively, while the strikers covered the base of the Inter midfield. Not every striker will do that kind of work. Tammy and Morata will.

I’m really glad they picked up Tammy and I hope he stays. We don’t need our strikers to score all of the goals if they help the offense click.
