CM: Milan remain admirers of Cesena starlet after great start to season

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have never stopped following Tommaso Berti, and the start to the season that he has had has reportedly attracted the interest of a number of different clubs.

As Calciomercato.com report, Berti has amassed two assists and a goal in four appearances to start the season for Cesena in Serie B, which has alerted clubs who had previously just been keeping an eye on how he is getting on.

A product of the Cesena youth sector, he made his senior debut in Serie C in 2021 when he was just 16, even managing to score with a celebration that became famous in the city, collapsing to the ground almost in tears of joy.

In the 2022-23 season, Fiorentina secured him on loan with the option to buy for their Primavera and he had a good season, with a goal against Inter in the Supercoppa, reaching two finals that La Viola unfortunately lost.

Berti chose Fiorentina ahead of many other offers such as that of Torino, but also and above all that of Milan. He wanted to move to Florence to grow with Alberto Aquilani, yet at the end of the season they didn’t use their option to buy.

The eyes of scouts from all over Italy remain very keen and even Milan – who were rejected years ago – have returned to watching Berti with attention. The Rossoneri are monitoring him with the idea of using him between Milan Futuro and the first team.

This time – compared to three seasons ago – Berti seems more ready technically, physically and also mentally for the big leap to a big club. Cesena will have to be convinced and this time it won’t be easy.
