CM: Milan big admirers of Girona defender but Man City could foil plan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan chief scout Geoffrey Moncada has been watching Yan Couto with interest and wants to try sign the right-back, according to a report.

As Calciomercato.com reports this morning, Moncada and his team in the scouting department have been implementing analysis, study and research work for several weeks by watching many matches both live and remotely.

Among the names that have caught the attention the most is that of Yan Couto, a 21-year-old full-back who is putting himself on display with the surprise LaLiga leaders Girona, but a player who is owned by Manchester City.

Couto won over Brazil’s coach Diniz, who included him in his latest squad for the qualifying phase for the next World Cup. Moncada would like to bring him to the Rossoneri, even if it won’t be a simple mission because as mentioned the defender is owned by Manchester City.

The Premier League side could make Couto the heir to the now-34-year-old Kyle Walker, but Milan remain vigilant about the Brazilian in view of next season.

    1. We gave up on Vieira. Inter gave up on Pirlo. Chelsea gave up on De Bruyne and Salah.

Big clubs let good prospects leave for all kinds of reasons.

I’ve liked Yan Couto ever since he was a pillar of my 3 times ECL winning Sporting Lisbon side on FM20 😀
