AC Milan held a concrete interest in signing Benjamin Sesko but it will now be a very complicated pursuit, according to a report.
As Calciomercato.com report, Sesko had a devastating impact with his new club RB Leipzig as he scored a brace in 20 minutes during the victory they obtained yesterday against Union Berlin.
Sesko’s transfer from Salzburg to Leipzig – two clubs in the Red Bull family – became official on 17 August 2022, with the German club leaving him on loan to the Austrians for another season.
Only two months earlier, the then-director of Milan – Paolo Maldini – had a meeting at the headquarters with the forward’s agent, Elvis Basanovic.
The Rossoneri had studied him for a long time and Geoffrey Moncada was convinced to make a first move. However, Red Bull didn’t even allow real negotiations to start because they already had a clear vision of what the ‘Szoboszlai-esque’ plan would be for the Slovenian.
After the 16 goals scored last season with Salzburg, Sesko aims to repeat the same numbers with Leipzig. Benjamin has everything to impose himself in the Bundesliga too: physique, technique and character.
Milan have never lost sight of him and they remain interested, but they know that today trying to sign him is almost impossible considering that Leipzig want him to grow in Germany for at least two years and already values him at more than €40-50m.
I think even at 50m he is a steal. If we have the means and Leipzig willing to sell I’d love to see him in Red and Black next season, more than Jonathan David!
Pay 40M-50M for him he will be worth it. Far better than David.
its super remarkable which footballers we can see in Salzburg. One talent follows the other, exceptional physical skills paired with technical skills and soccer intelligence. From Mane to Haaland. 500mio EURO sales in a few years – would be great if some of then would have joined milan – and NO Noah istn one of them
Red Bull’s advantage is all the clubs they control. They can move players from one club to another. Salzburg is basically guaranteed to win the Austrian league every year and thus play CL every year.
Also they give out quite fair exit clauses at Salzburg. No crazy sums, reasonable transfer fees that basically allow players to move on and chose their destinations if they attract attention.
Makes Red Bull probably the best place for a young player to develop.
he joined them july first and has played 3 games and scored 2 goals after joining them for 24 mil and he is now valued 40-50 mil ! sure they might want that for him but to say his valuation is that is basicaly pure nonsense.
Šeško would be the ideal heir to Giroud. Tall, strong, good build up play and nose for goal. David on the other hand is more like Okafor.
Jonathan is the best option we don’t need another kalinic
Lol. Will you brek open you piggy bank when lille asks for 60M+?
He won’t be 60m+ with a year left in 2024, if they don’t exercise their option to extend. But like some others here, I’m not convinced he’s the right one.
Yes yes yes long term admirer but it is already too late. Move to other target that below 40m euro price tag are more realistic
xavi simons – now theres a player
Roko Simic look good player for Milan. Sesko if his transfer values under 30 millions euro, Milan should get him. But if his value over 30 millions euro maybe Roko Simic can be alternatives.
