CM: Milan ready to go all-in on Monaco midfielder with price tag established

AC Milan are looking to reinforce the midfield this summer, above all the defensive side of things, and several names have been mentioned. According to a report, Youssouf Fofana of Monaco is the primary target as things stand.

The Rossoneri conceded a whopping 49 goals in Serie A last season and a lot of that can be attributed to a lack of balance. As such, with Paulo Fonseca now ready to start his tenure, the management wants to give him a defensive midfielder.

As Mats Wieffer has officially joined Premier League side Brighton, Milan are now ready to focus all of their efforts on Youssouf Fofana, according to Calciomercato.com. An offer of €20m will be needed to convince Monaco and considering that Wieffer went for €30m, this must be considered as a fair number.

Adrien Rabiot has also been linked with the Rossoneri and per the report, Geoffrey Moncada and Giiorgo Furlani remain vigilant on the player. However, it’s an operation that remains very complicated and it’s not an arrival that the Milan fans should be expecting.

Fofana is currently at the Euros with France, who have qualified for the semi-finals, and this could perhaps delay the negotiations a bit.
