CM: Milan among five Serie A clubs in race for €35m teenager; Man Utd linked

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are one of five Serie A clubs in the race to land highly-rated Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com reported in September that Milan made a summer bid for Tonali – believed to be in the region of €15-20m – that was deemed insufficient.

The same outlet then stated not long after that Paolo Maldini and the rest of the Milan management have not given up on the idea of signing Tonali.

The 19-year-old has previously revealed his love for the Diavolo, revealing that former head coach Gennaro Gattuso was his childhood idol.

According to Calciomercato.com, Tonali continues to be the ‘most courted’ talent in Italian football at present, and the Rossoneri are one of the frontrunners for his signature.

However they are not alone, as Juventus, Inter, Napoli and even Fiorentina all also have their eyes on the teenager.

Brescia president Massimo Cellino has the idea of hanging on to Tonali for as long as possible in order to drive up his price and possible even spark an auction, the report concludes.

FcInterNews.it have claimed in the past that Cellino is ready to conduct an auction next summer with the starting price at €35m. Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have been credited with interest from abroad.
