CM: Milan and Juve ponder swap between centre-back and winger that would fix two issues

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Juventus are considering a swap deal that could see both clubs offload players with uncertain futures, according to a report.

As Calciomercato.com writes, Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli has been linked with a move to Juventus on numerous occasions over the past few years while Juventus winger Federico Bernardeschi has been tipped to join the Rossoneri several times too. Now, Romagnoli and Bernardeschi look more like problems than resources for their respective clubs as their contracts expire in June 2022 and both are having a season that is anything but excellent on an individual level.

Agent Mino Raiola is working on the ideal of a swap deal given that he represents both Romagnoli and Bernardeschi. It is a single operation could solve two distinct problems and for that reason an equal exchange could take place. There are still many more obstacles that would need to be overcome – like Bernardeschi’s €4m net salary – but the idea of relaunching himself with the Rossoneri could finally convince him to leave Juve.

Romagnoli has been identified as the potential replacement  for Chiellini, the report claims, so it is an operation that could begin to gather serious steam.
