CM: Juventus lock in on pursuit of Lazio forward – the truth about the Milan links

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been linked with a move for Felipe Anderson of Lazio in recent days, but a report has now clarified that status of the interest (or lack thereof).

Il Messaggero (via MilanWorld) reported earlier in the week that the Luka Romero operation could be repeated with Anderson a target. In fact, they paper stated that it is Zlatan Ibrahimovic would like to bring the Brazilian forward to Milan.

The former West Ham United and Porto man is on an expiring deal with Lazio and at the moment there is nothing to suggest that an extension is imminent. He has 316 games under his belt with the capital club, and a return of 56 goals and 63 assists has attracted the Rossoneri.

However, Calciomercato.com have now published an update on Anderson’s situation and they begin by stating that Milan are not working on the 30-year-old Brazilian at the moment, which gives Juventus a ‘road free of obstacles’.

Juve wants to add width ahead of the return to the Champions League and the Club World Cup, and Cristiano Giuntoli’s plan is clear: add 2/3 wingers into the squad to give alternative formations such as the 3-4-3 or the 4-3-3 to enable variation from the 3-5-2.

Anderson is one of the names on their list, and he has big offers from Saudi Arabia but would prefer to stay in Italy. This is why Juventus are traveling quickly towards the target, and contacts between the Juventus management and the player’s entourage are constant.

Moreover, Mason Greenwood is another name on their list. In the summer he will return to Manchester United from Getafe but only in passing: the Red Devils do not want to bet on him for the future and thus he could depart.

United meanwhile want Gleison Bremer at all costs and could grant Juve a fast track for Greenwood as part of some kind of exchange deal.
