CM: Milan believe they can beat Inter, Juventus to €40m Fiorentina star because of three reasons

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have joined the race to land talented young Fiorentina midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli this summer, according to a report.

The 22-year-old dazzled during Fiorentina’s 3-1 win at San Siro against the Rossoneri earlier in the season. After the game, Castrovilli admitted his love for Milan, and the Rossoneri have actually been linked with a move to try and sign him since.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan have joined the race to land Castrovilli as they look to add youth and inspiration to the midfield in view of the next season.

Milan are thinking of a real strategy to try to move into pole position, and the first move will be to play on the fact he is a self-confessed fan of the club who idolises Kaka, so perhaps allowing him to wear the No.22 shirt could be huge.

Then there is the guarantee of a permanent starting position. In teams like Inter or Juve, Castrovilli it would risk being a mere alternative, one of many. In Milan he would certainly play from the beginning.

The third factor concerns a potential deal between Milan and Fiorentina. La Viola really like Lucas Paquetà, who could be included in the negotiation to get to Castrovilli. The Brazilian is valued at €30million, Castrovilli at €40m, so it could be a very useful tactic in bringing down the price tag.
