CM: Milan targeting versatile duo to strengthen defence – the latest

AC Milan are working on two possible options for the defensive department to strengthen an area that has been decimated by injuries, it is claimed.

With the official return of Matteo Gabbia now imminent, Calciomercato.com confirm that Milan are trying to sign Filippo Terracciano from Hellas Verona, a 20-year-old capable of covering multiple roles and with big potential.

During the current season he has mainly played as a wing-back in a three-man defence or a full-back in a four-man back line, varying both on the right side of the pitch and on the left, but he was also used as a central defender when necessary do to his size.

The Rossoneri have begun talks and are testing the waters to find out the feasibility of the operation, and things could heat up in the coming days. If Verona’s valuation of the player is not deemed excessive, then an attempt could take shape.

Fiorentina are also following Terracciano closely and is looking for a right-back to replace the injured Dodò, also due to the possible departure of the young Niccolò Pierozzi, but Milan’s competition complicates Fiorentina’s plans for them.

Meanwhile, Daniele Longo from the same source confirms that Milan are working to sign Lilian Brassier from Brest, with contacts having taken place this morning. Brest want €10m to sell, but Porto are also keen.
