CM: Milan confident of striking deal with Donnarumma soon – Raiola trusts Milan’s project

AC Milan are optimistic about finding an agreement with Gianluigi Donnarumma soon and avoiding a soap opera like the one back in 2017, a report claims.

As Calciomercato.com reports, Donnarumma has been virtually immovable from the starting XI since he burst onto the scene under Sinisa Mihajlovic, and his development and maturity are perfectly illustrated by the fact he plays with the captain’s armband on his arm in the absence of Romagnoli.

The 21-year-old continues to improve from game to game, and on Sunday night he will be looking to right the wrongs of last season in which he made two mistakes at the Stadio San Paolo in a 2-2 draw.

In terms of his future, negotiations for the renewal of his contract – which is set to expire in June 2021 – are ongoing. His agent Mino Raiola and Paolo Maldini continue to negotiate with absolute clarity and a lot of optimism, so much so that there will not be a soap opera like in 2017.

The report concludes by stating that ‘there is trust in Milan’, a sign that Raiola is seemingly happy for his client to renew.
