CM: Milan continue negotiations with Benfica over Florentino – Maldini’s strategy

By Isak Möller -

Although the season is still ongoing, the AC Milan directors are already preparing for the next one and the transfer window in September. As Stefano Pioli and Paolo Maldini will remain, the situation is now a bit different.

According to Daniele Longo in his latest video for Calciomercato.com, Florentino Luis is still an important target for the Rossoneri. In fact, the midfielder’s agent has stayed in touch with Frederic Massara and Paolo Maldini in recent months.

As a result of this, Milan are now ready to continue the negotiations with Benfica. Florentino came close to joining the Rossoneri back in January and he could leave the Portuguese side on a loan formula in September.

Stefano Pioli has approved the deal and the Milan scouts have followed him closely for a long time, convinced that he would be a good signing. Work is underway to reach an agreement and the formula could perhaps be a two-year loan with an option to buy.

  1. We only need one holding midfielder, as Bennacer/Kessie duo has been really great, so Tonali, Florentino Luis or Marc Roca! Attacking midfielders should be our priority, with the likes of Rodrigo de Paul, Matias Zaracho or Real”s surplus players Ceballos and Rodriguez the options!
