CM: Milan could sign a fifth-choice midfielder – Chelsea man remains in fashion

By Isak Möller -

Milan have been looking for a fourth-choice midfielder all summer and it seems they could sign Yacine Adli for that role. However, they could also sign one more player for that department, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, the injury of Franck Kessie (who will at least miss the opener) has made Milan reflect on the depth situation. In addition to Adli, for whom they have a €10m agreement with Bordeaux, one more midfielder could arrive.

Tommaso Pobega is the current ‘fifth-choice midfielder’ in the squad, if you include Adli, but the Italian should leave on loan before the window closes. Therefore, the Rossoneri could turn their sights to Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The Chelsea midfielder is destined to leave the Stamford Bridge this summer and he has also been linked with Napoli and Lyon. Milan could make a move for the Frenchman, also with the AFCONs in mind (which Bennacer and Kessie will take part in).

    1. Honestly it is tiring to read all these speculation about holding midfielders when the biggest concerns are CAM and RW. We literally get no attacking output from the RW especially goals. These issues need to be fixed before the window closes or we’ll be playing catch-up before the season starts at all.
