CM: Milan left with decision to make after €17m Fofana bid is rejected – the situation

AC Milan have had a second bid rejected for Youssouf Fofana by Monaco but they will continue their attempts to land him, according to a report.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan were anxiously awaiting a response from Monaco to the second offer presented about a week ago and it arrived in the last few hours. The Ligue 1 club do not consider the bid of €17m including bonuses to be enough.

The parties are still in contact and there is no sign of a slowdown in the negotiations, while – according to French sources – Milan are getting closer to the asking price of sporting director Thiago Scuro.

In recent days there has been a lot of talk about Manchester United and Atletico Madrid entering the race Fofana and L’Equipe spoke of a €35m bid from West Ham for the France international.

Calciomercato.com add that the Hammers are seriously trying for the 25-year-old but he does not seem to be interested in the move because he wants a club that will participate in the next edition of the Champions League.

Fofana is in a hurry to know his fate because he is currently on vacation after the European Championship and is set to return to training soon to begin preparing for the new season.

He wants to join Milan and has agreed a four-year contract at around €3m net plus bonuses per season. Now, it is up to Milan to decide whether to go back in with a third offer or go for other targets.
