AC Milan have got eight players that are going to see their contracts expire at the end of this season or the next, meaning they require thought and attention from the club.
As pointed out by Calciomercato.com, there are a host of players that Milan need to start thinking carefully about and factoring into their future transfer plans.
Milan had an incredibly busy summer transfer window that saw big changes in the midfield, but there will be plenty of changes to come over the next 18 months.
In terms of the most immediate expirations, Antonio Mirante, Mattia Caldara, Simon Kjaer, Luka Jovic and Olivier Giroud will all be out of contract at the end of this season. There is an option for Jovic’s contract to be extended for another year, but that is not likely to happen given he is yet to score a goal.
At the end of the 2024/25 season, the contracts of Davide Calabria, Alessandro Florenzi, and Rade Krunic will all expire, three players who get regular minutes under Stefano Pioli right now.
The likes of Mirante, Caldara and Jovic will likely leave the club without being directly replaced, whilst Kjaer and Giroud would need replacing. Milan are still working on a new contract for Giroud.
Losing Calabria and Florenzi would mean a new right-back or two is needed, whilst Krunic is heavily linked with a sale to Fenerbahce.
