CM: Milan do not want to rush pursuit of Calhanoglu replacement – the identikit drawn up

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s search to replace Hakan Calhanoglu has officially begun, and it is reported that the management are not in any rush.

According to the latest from most reliable sources, Calhanoglu is all set to join Inter from Milan, with the general consensus being that it will be a three-year deal worth €5m net per season plus €1m in bonuses, which is slightly more than Milan’s offer.

Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com writes that Milan won’t accelerate immediately for Calhanoglu’s replacement, because a large chunk of money is needed to find a reliable attacking midfielder. The Milan management wants to analyse the situation at the best they can.

For the playmaker position, Milan could focus on a similar profile to Calhanoglu, i.e. must be able to attack and also to defend in the non-possession phase. It seems, therefore, that we may have to wait a few weeks until the right name emerges.
