CM: Milan examining three right-back options including Inter and Barcelona duo

AC Milan have three targets in mind as they look to replace Diogo Dalot, who is set to return to Manchester United when his loan spell is complete.

Calciomercato.com writes that finding a new alternative to Davide Calabria – the undisputed starter in the role of right-back and a player set for a new deal – is among the absolute priorities for the Rossoneri this summer. Frederic Massara and Paolo Maldini are already active on the market in search of the best solution that could arrive with little economic outlAy.

Milan have had more than one contact with Danilo D’Ambrosio’s agent in recent days and the parties discussed the possibility of a two-year deal, but talks have stalled because Inter seem set to exercise their option to extend his contract for another year.

Napoli’s Elseid Hysaj – also on an expiring contract – is also an option. The Albania international can also play on the left and Milan likes this flexibility. A deal could be closed at €2.5m net per season plus bonuses. Maldini took time because of the high requests but the option remains valid and a new meeting is scheduled.

Finally, Emerson Royal of Barcelona is also a possible option but Bayern Munich have moved to try and sign him in the last few hours and so it seems a difficult pursuit at this stage.
