CM: Milan eyeing one more signing before window closes – Palmeiras star the No.1 target

AC Milan are looking to strengthen in one more area before the January transfer window closes, according to a report.

As Calciomercato.com reports, the momentum has not left Milan’s market as earlier today Mateo Musacchio was sold to Lazio. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are continuing to work to add a new full-back to the squad, a player who can deputise Theo Hernandez on the left side of defence.

Matias Vina is the name that they have chosen to do just that. The 23-year-old has been a protagonist of the Palmeiras side that has reached the final of the Copa Libertadores, and is the first name on the wish list of the Rossoneri management.

They are continuing to work to bring him to Milan but it is not an easy mission, because the Uruguayan has a long contract with the Brazilian side and Palmeiras have set a high asking price.

Thanks to the excellent performances of the full-back, his valuation is now much higher than the €5.5million paid just a year ago by Palmeiras to Club Nacional of Montevideo. Milan are there though, and they are monitoring the situation to assess whether there are margins to set up an operation in the last few days of the window, or whether to wait until the summer.
