CM: Milan faced with transfer dilemma as PSV refuse to sign €5m defender

By Isak Möller -

In an attempt to get more playing time ahead of the Euros, Ricardo Rodriguez joined PSV Eindhoven on a six-month deal. However, with the loan coming to an end – and the Euros postponed – Milan are faced with a dilemma.

According to Calciomercato.com, it’s yet another issue for Ralf Rangnick’s Milan to deal with this summer. As if they didn’t have enough problems with renewals, PSV have no intention of signing Rodriguez on a permanent deal this summer.

The Rossoneri are asking for €5m to sell the defender, having signed him for €15m in 2017, but the Dutch side are holding back on their spendings. Rodriguez’ contract will expire in 2021 and Milan thus need to find a solution, or lose out completely.

They also proposed to include Rodriguez in the negotiations for Denzel Dumfries, but PSV rejected the idea. In other words, it’s quite the dilemma for Milan and it remains to be seen where the Swiss international will end up next season.
