CM: Milan firmly in Tonali race after talks with agent – offer to Brescia and player expected

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are serious in their pursuit of Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali and are formulating an offer for the upcoming window, a report claims.

Speculation linking the Rossoneri with a move for Tonali has intensified over the past couple of weeks, with several outlets claiming that Milan will try everything to land the 19-year-old, who is a boyhood fan of the club.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com, interest has been expressed by Milan to his agent, and an official offer to the player and Brescia will be presented once everything is defined regarding a role and Elliott’s budget to spend on the operation.

Tonali perfectly fits the mould of player that Elliott want to build their squad on: he is young, talented and ambitious, plus he knows what it would mean to wear the Rossoneri colours.

Before the coronavirus emergency, Brescia president Massimo Cellino wanted €50million, a figure that cannot be lowered much because competition is strong, but Elliott knows that getting to Tonali would mean sending a strong signal to the fans.

Juventus, Inter and Paris Saint-Germain are also expected to make an attempt, but Milan may be able to lower the demands by putting Alessandro Plizzari or Matteo Gabbia in the deal, or funds from the sale of Lucas Paqueta – valued at €30m – could make it happen.
