AC Milan are pushing hard to try and sign Tijjani Reijnders but they have cooled their interest in Yunus Musah, according to a report.
According to a report from Calciomercato.com, the Milan management are moving ahead of time to try and reconstruct the midfield ahead of the new season, given Sandro Tonali’s sale and Ismael Bennacer’s injury.
The first to arrive was Ruben Loftus-Cheek and he sure won’t be the last, with talks ongoing over Musah and Reijnders of Valencia and AZ Alkmaar respectively. Both have different roles and characteristics, as well as similar price tags.
However, things seem to have cooled down a bit with Valencia. Milan offered €15m plus bonuses in a proposal that would reach €17/18m for the USA international but the LaLiga side want €25m.
It is a clear distance between the parties that put the brakes on a negotiation that seemed like it could proceed quickly. To complicate things further, there are also the interests of two Premier League teams: West Ham and Fulham.
Reijnders remains the favourite. Milan already have an agreement with the 24-year-old over a four-year contract at €1.8m net per season. AZ Alkmaar have rejected the first offer of €15m and want €20m without bonuses or with easy-to-reach clauses.
