CM: Milan decide against free agent signing – the defenders being monitored

By Oliver Fisher -

It doesn’t rain but it pours on the injury front for AC Milan and they now have only one fit senior centre-back available following the hamstring injury sustained by Malick Thiaw.

Calciomercato.com report that Thiaw is at risk of a long lay-off because of the extent of the muscle problem he has and given that Marco Pellegrino and Pierre Kalulu are also out until the new year, there is a real emergency at the back.

Milan will not go on the free agent market to try and fix the problem before the January window, the report states. Jan-Carlo Simic will be promoted to the first team from the Primavera and then internal solutions will be sought game by game.

The Rossoneri management are working on potential names for the January transfer window and the idea is to try to get Jakub Kiwior on loan from Arsenal, which is difficult but not impossible at the moment.

The names of Benoit Badiashile (Chelsea), Konstantinos Kourielakis (PAOK) and Maxime Estevè (Montpellier) also remain. Lloyd Kelly, however, will not leave Bournemouth in January.

Next weekend Milan scouts will be on scene in France looking for new profiles to include in this list.

    1. Because they tend to be more expensive pound for pound?? And then even more expensive in January, because no club wants to sell their quality players in January, because then they have to source a replacement, which means another club has to let quality go in January.

  1. Is that all we do now is shop in France first.. Why not bring someone like boateng in who can come tomorrow and will be decent until everyone comes back

  2. Boating would be another kjaer and that’s not a good thing to have nowadays. From France Esteve Theate Omari Danso Doukoure Yoro Medina. The best player to get for me is Danso Theate Esteve Medina Yoro Doukoure Omari in that order so yh Kevin Danso from Ligue 1 he was voted the best defence in the league last year he’s profile is like Tomori

  3. In Italy the best cb is scalvini and I really doubt that the would spend 35m for him the other is Coppola but idk if he is that good . Now that one that is like Nesta I really don’t think he is that good now all the good ones are in good teams that idk if they would like to join Milan

    1. scalvini will most likely cost 50-60 mil if not more. The guy who Nesta is coach for is Alessandro Marcandalli and he is owned by Genoa but i have no idea how good he is but Reggiana doesn’t even have a buy clause which might indicate that genoa wants to to keep him for the time being.

      1. 100% Scalvini will be 50-60M. My Scalvini “B” is Buongiorno, but even he will cost north of 30m, and that’s a price we might have to pay for quality, but it won’t happen until the summer. The “C” alternative might be Baschirotto, but again the January premium might make his price north of 15M, when he should be available for 10M.

  4. We can get the best players in the world …. if pioli stays there, we will have the same results. Pioli’s style of play is outdated, stale and not fun to watch.
He is still there coz no one else is available.
This is stupid in fact ….. why not revive Sacchi or Capello?

  5. Either get Kiwior as he knows Serie A or just go for an Italian in Scalvini. We need to get a few Italians in the team and let go of the Italians we have at the moment as they are really worthless. Let Pobega & Calabria leave. Use the young ones in Bartesaghi & Simic.
