CM: Milan have concrete interest in River Plate forward after dazzling Superclasico display

By Oliver Fisher -

Julian Alvarez is the man of the moment for River Plate as his brace helped them win the Superclasico against Boca Juniors, and Milan have taken note.

As Calciomercato.com reports, River Plate have returned to the top thanks to his goals, which have continued an excellent start to the season after he won the Copa America with Argentina over the summer. Alvarez’s name is top of the wish list for several clubs, including Milan.

This season the 21-year-old winger has already amassed 4 assists and 7 goals in 11 games, and the Rossoneri are one of the most active clubs on him, believing that he could offer something similar to what Ante Rebic does in terms of hard work and aggression.

Milan began chasing him last year but the request for payment of the €25m release clause stopped the deal, but today Alvarez is only a year and a half away from the expiry of his contract (December 31, 2022) and the possibility of a discount is real.

A number of other teams are interested though such as Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, along with Aston Villa and Tottenham in the Premier League and Sevilla who want to try in January.
