AC Milan tried to address the left-back position during the summer transfer window with the sale of Fode Ballo-Toure and the signing of a new deputy to Theo Hernandez.
However, in the end Ballo-Toure did not leave until after the Italian transfer window had shut meaning there was no time to go out and shop for a replacement, while the decision had been made internally to rely on Alessandro Florenzi and Primavera talent Davide Bartesaghi.
However, Calciomercato.com report that Milan already have clear ideas about what the priorities will be when the window reopens in January and also heading into next summer, one of which is to find a reliable alternative to Theo Hernandez.
Chief scout Geoffrey Moncada and sporting director Antonio D’Ottavio have got Juan Miranda of Real Betis in their sights. There were talks held during the summer window that has just closed, but they never became that concrete.
Milan will try again for Miranda in the coming months. In the meantime, Betis want to offer proposal to renew his contract expiring in 2024.
