CM: Milan have four players on wish list to complement Giroud signing

By Isak Möller -

In addition to Olivier Giroud, another signing should be signed by Milan this summer as Zlatan Ibrahimovic isn’t in the best condition. The Rossoneri have set their sights on four players in particular, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, the first is an old target of Milan, namely Luka Jovic. They met the player’s agent a few days ago and it remains to be seen if another loan spell is on the cards for the Serbian striker.

Andrea Belotti is also on the Rossoneri’s radar but Roma are ahead currently, having offered €20m to Torino for the player. Nothing has been closed, though, meaning Milan still have a chance in the race.

Then there is the Italy starlet Giacomo Raspadori, who has attracted the interest of many clubs after a good season. Sassuolo will most likely ask for a very high price tag and this could keep Milan from making a move.

The final name is Mauro Icardi. The former Inter striker isn’t among the favourites at PSG and a loan move is indeed possible. PSG would have to pay part of his salary and that makes this operation the most difficult one.

  1. Luka Jovic earns more from Madrid than Icardi does at PSG, either of those would need the parent club to take a huge hit.

Raspadori will be worth a fortune at the moment.

Belotti is the only one that I can see as a non-loan signing but doesn’t seem like Milan are interested. Doesn’t make much sense to sign Giroud and him.

  2. Overreacting much? Giroud’s a current French international who’s game doesn’t rely on pace. He’s seems a strange choice to me too, I thought they’d go for a seasoned Italian pro like Belotti, but they’re working to a budget and if they sign up Giroud he can be a worthy deputy to Ibrahimovic for a year.

  3. These guys aren’t thinking long term at all, they don’t want to spend money and will keep the club at the position they were at the second part of last season.

If only we had depth, we would have won scudetto, but zlatan our target man plays one game and gets injured for the next three guys with a repeated cycle.

We need to look beyond zlatan’s era. He’s my second best striker of all time, both for Milan and otherwise, but we seriously need to put the club first.

The Milan management shouldn’t be stingy this summer, buy quality players as I do hope they are not just looking at marking champions League attendance, but are willing to go very far.

  4. Swapping Leao and Hauge for Giroud and Icardi sounds completely backwards and against everything that was built last season
