Pierre Kalulu has sustained a muscle injury and his presence against Inter is now seriously at risk. The Frenchman will undergo further tests soon but AC Milan are hoping to recover him for the derby, a report claims.
The youngster was the favourite to replace Fikayo Tomori alongside Malick Thiaw in the derby, given the Englishman’s suspension, but the muscle injury has made things difficult. He could now miss out on the game altogether.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan are still hoping to recover Kalulu in time for the derby and thus haven’t given up hope yet. Should he fail to make it, then Simon Kjaer will be the starting centre-back on Saturday.
Olivier Giroud is also recovering from a minor injury but it seems he will be available for the big game. He stopped just in time and the stress ruled out an injury, with just some ankle pain to get rid of.
Why not try bartesaghi or pellegrino.
Because Bartesaghi is 17 and Pelegrino hasn’t played a single game for us. Not starting caliber for one of the most important games of the season.
Lol you really want to start one of the hottest football matches one the planet by playing 17 year old boy that’s not even in the senior squad?
You want to use two kids without experiences in Big Match against Inter?
Slow and washed Kjaer is no match for the speed of Thuram and Lautaro. If we go with Kjaer it will be a full-blown disaster. If you see Kjaer listed for the lineup, kiss goodbye to any possibility of winning this Derby. I’d rather have a young and unproven player there like Pellegrino than Kjaer but my hope that Pioli will also see it this way is very small.
And so it begins…
Fenchies sound like they will get reassembled in time. Kalulu hopefully too, but at least we have Kjaer to cover. Alternatives for Mike and Theo are far less reassuring.
Yeh Maignan or Theo would be a disaster and it wouldn’t surprise me if one of them gets injured the next few weeks. Maybe Kalulu will recover in time – if not I’m not super confident in Kjaer. I don’t get why the schedules are so crazy now – never used to be like this.
Simic! We played him there already and he was all but amazing in ore season. Nust have faith in your youngsters!
