CM: Milan hoping to resolve future of full-back – details of the demands and latest offer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking to resolve the long-term future of Davide Calabria by securing a renewal before the new season, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com writes how Calabria – because of his ‘almost visceral attachment’ to the Rossoneri shirt that he has worn since he was a child – wants to extend his contract expiring in 2022, with Maldini and Massara on the same line of thought.

The negotiation has not yet entered the definition phase, because in the last meeting with the entourage of the 24-year-old, Milan put forward a contract until 2025 with a salary that would rise to €2m net per season. The request made by the representatives of Calabria is for a contract until 2024 with a net salary of €2.5m.

There is still some distance but there is the common will to find an agreement soon, which is why a new meeting is planned this week to try and reach a deal.

  1. The management should NOT low ball Milan’s home grown players.

When you don’t give the SAME patience and treatment to the home grow players as the management/coaches have done to bought-in “outsider” players, you end up with loss of Milan young talents, such as, Locatelli, Pessina, etc.
