CM: Milan in contact with €25m River Plate winger’s agent – decision expected soon

AC Milan are interested in signing River Plate winger Julian Alvarez and have learned his asking price, according to a report.

Described by Calciomercato.com as ‘the new talent of Argentine football’, the Rossoneri are apparently keen on signing the 21-year-old, who has already made his debut for the Argentine national team. He is more of a right-sided player who is able to beat his man, and his main weapon are assists as he amassed 7 in the last season.

The Milan scouting area has been monitoring him for some time and the reports are more than positive, which means their interest could move from a simple admiration to something more concrete. At present, Milan have not opened a negotiation with River Plate but are kept informed through his agent Fernando Hidalgo.

Alvarez has a €25m release clause while his contract expires in December 2022. Several Premier League clubs are circling including Aston Villa, but he dreams of wearing the Rossoneri shirt.

In the next few days Maldini and Massara will make a decision on the player, who could become a useful attacking weapon for Pioli.
