CM: Milan in talks with midfielder over deal until 2024 – management want it closed by Christmas

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have opened talks with the agent of midfielder Franck Kessie over extending his stay at San Siro, according to a report.

The Ivorian has exploded over the past few months and has become one of the best midfielders in Serie A alongside Ismael Bennacer, and La Gazzetta dello Sport reported earlier in the week (via MilanLive) that Milan want to keep hold of Kessie for as long as possible and have entered into talks over a new deal.

The fact his contract expires in June 2022 means there is some urgency to try and avoid another situation like the one the management are currently facing with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu.

According to what is being reported by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com on Twitter, negotiations have started between Milan and Kessie to extend his contract until 2024.

There are positive feelings about the situation, and the Rossoneri want to accelerate and close the negotiations by January.
