CM: Milan initiate contacts with Isco – Real Madrid happy to sell but salary demand is off-putting

The track leading to Isco as a potential replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu appears to have cooled due to his salary requests, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com highlight how important the No.10 is in Stefano Pioli’s system, operating as the all-important link between midfield and attack. That is why the new signing must guarantee quality but also balance in the non-possession phase, and Milan don’t want to make a mistake in choosing who will take over from Calhanoglu.

There have been contacts over a potential deal for Isco who could leave Real Madrid this summer after eight years at the club. He has international experience and technical quality which could help the team, and the good relations with Los Blancos could help the Rossoneri.

Real Madrid are happy to facilitate the exit of Isco at a low figure and with favourable payment methods, however the player’s first salary request is €9m net per season, €2m more than what he currently receives at Real Madrid. To ensure that a concrete negotiation can begin, he must lower his economic demands.
