CM: Milan, Inter and Genoa battling to sign ‘the next Mkhitaryan’

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan, Inter and Genoa have all been linked with a deal for Krasnodar midfielder Eduard Spertsyan who has been described as a ‘new Henrikh Mkhitaryan’.

As has been reported by Calciomercato.com, the 24-year-old Armenian midfielder is attracting the attention of three Italian clubs and he could soon be on the move.

He was actually born in Russia but is an Armenian citizen and plays for the Armenian national team. As is the way with countries not known for producing great footballers, he has been likened to Inter’s Armenian midfielder, Mkhitaryan.

Spertsyan has played for Krasnodar for his entire career so moving away would be emotional, but his eleven goals and seven assists this season have catapulted him onto the radar of teams further west in Europe.

Whilst primarily playing in the central attacking role, he is able to play on the right wing and the left wing which means he would be a very versatile option for the Rossoneri.

He has played 27 times for Armenia and picked up four goals in the process. He could provide depth behind Ruben Loftus-Cheek, as well as on each wing. His market value on Transfermarkt is currently €20m so it would not be an extremely cheap deal.

  1. Why does it say 20M is not a cheap deal for a midfielder?
Kai harvertz was bought for 75M, Nkunku was 60M, I’m not even gonna mention hey Jude..

20M for an AM is cheap AF. Even we bought someone for 36M a minute ago

    1. Those guys were all proven and established at the highest levels, this is a 24 year old who plays in Russia… It’s not cheap at all considering the uncertainty

      1. I’d say Russian league is 8th strongest in EU. Just remember the players that went there and fees paid pre putin BS.

  2. The next Mkhitaryan?

Hmm not the most exciting prospect.

Shall we save ‘nexts’ for superstars?

The ‘next Messi’, ‘next Ronaldo’, ‘next Maldini’.

  3. This kid is a solid solid prospect. He is so much more talented and attacking than Mikhi. I’ve been a fan of his for a minute. I’d love for Milan to snap him up.

He can develop into a great 10.

    1. Mkhitaryan is one of the best attacking Midfielders in the world. He has been playing in the top European clubs for a decade. Furthermore he has scored a lot of goals, provided a lot of assists and won several big trophies.

        1. Yes I am Armenian, so what? Both players are Armenian so I will not be biased :). I like Spertsyan a lot and I would be very happy if he joins a great club like Milan. But when Micki was in his age, he was already playing for Borussia Dortmund and was performing very well. I see your point, but it has nothing to do with me being an Armenian.

          1. I can tell 🙂

Mkho’n arden jahel chi. Ev baci mkhitaryanic Hayastan@ urish lav xaghacogh ch@uni. Huysov em for Spertsyan@ karana lavana ev Evropayum xagha. Milan hasner lav kliner.

    1. Guaranteed to play at Genoa. And that’s how Genoa will sell it. Thwyll.probably pay what we will offer as well. Milan he will have to fight for a spot, not to mention Russian league isn’t exactly filled with top players he is competing against.

      1. @Arcteryx @ACM1899 – true, I guess I was just thinking if Milan or merde are determined… We’re offering CL, he’s versatile so might get more opportunities and all that. PLUS he gets to share a locker room with Pobega which I believe is every young player’s dream.

    2. Smaller clubs invest more readily on diamonds in the ruff and ride the risk rather than the bigger clubs. But Spertsyan has a lot of upside.
