CM: Milan, Inter and Juventus all competing to land Nice star in bargain deal

By Oliver Fisher -

OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram is reportedly the subject of a transfer battle between AC Milan, Inter and Juventus, the three big rivals in Italian football.

According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.com, Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is planning for a future that he hopes will have Thiago Motta as the head coach, and he is beginning to think about strengthening the team.

Khephren Thuram – the brother of Inter player Marcus and son of Lilian – has been on their radar for several weeks. Giuntoli believes that Thuram is the ideal midfielder for the future of the Bianconeri, given his age, physical strength, vision of the game and favourable contractual situation.

In fact, Thuram’s contract with Nice expires in June 2025, a condition which means he could be allowed to leave for a reasonable fee in the summer. Sources in France even speak of a figure in the €15-20m range.

Milan and Inter are both big admirers of Thuram too but at present it is Juventus who have taken the most concrete steps to sign him. The midfielder expects to leave Nice in the summer and take the next step in his career, which might well be in Serie A.

    1. Yet they somehow always seem to be able to sell/offload players for a good price to get new ones.
I’m not going to claim they’re in a good financial situation, but in the end of the day, they put more money on players both in terms of wages and in purchases.
So if there is going to be a bid, I think we’re gonna lose.

    2. But yet somehow one of them will likely manage to get him instead of us lol….

They have Marotta and Giuntoli and we have a banker in Furlani.

I’m also pretty sure he has interest from the EPL and they will gladly beat any salary we will propose let alone what Inter or Juve will propose

  1. It’s all rumors at this point, I see neither concrete nor bricks for that matter.
Either way I don’t think Milan is going to try to outbid anyone or compete with anyone for a player.

  2. But I believe he is going to be useful to us . I see him kinda like koopmeiners and a better RLC so yh I think we should put pedal to the gas and sign him ASAP I mean they literally paid 20m for Musah so why not him?

    1. We don’t do ‘pedal to the metal’ unfortunately – if we are in the mix with Sphincter or Pretentious, we will probably lose out – fast-forward 10 years when this band of wannabes are no longer in charge…

  3. Given who his father is and the success of his brother, along with his own success at Nice, I suspect that he is not going to come as cheaply as the article makes it sound.

I suspect he would be a useful player for us, quickly, but it concerns me that we’re talking about spending in an area where we have some cover. I’m more worried about striker, DM and CB. AM depth would be great, but it’s not a priority need.
