CM: Milan temptation and a Juventus dream – Conte’s thoughts on his future

Antonio Conte has been out of work since March of last season when he left Spurs, and he is looking carefully at potential landing spots.

According to Calciomercato.com, Conte has received many calls and offers since he left Spurs but none so far have made him jump back into a role. That is expected to change before the start of the 2024-25 campaign.

The club pushing the hardest to try hire Conte is Napoli. The calls and the proposal that arrived to replace Rudi Garcia in October did not win him over, and he has doubts about the project with Victor Osimhen almost certain to leave while the defence needs rebuilding.

The projects that are teasing him the most are in the north of Italy, starting with Milan. The team that he could inherit from Stefano Pioli has many players that he considers ready and suitable for his 3-4-3/3-5-2, and he sees Rafael Leao as a great fit too.

The other idea that could tease the Salento-born coach is a return to the Premier League (not only on an economic level given the level of English salaries) but this time to a club that needs relaunch, like Manchester United.

His big loves are Juventus and living in Turin. To return to the Bianconeri, Conte would also reject big offers and probably have to accept a lower salary, while there would be doubts about the funds available to bolster the squad.

Before he fully accepts a different project, Conte wants the certainty that there is no possibility of returning to Juventus. Conversely, he is also willing to wait and see what happens with Max Allegri.
