CM: Milan left ‘bewitched’ by Watford striker and could make summer attempt

Another source has claimed that AC Milan are big admirers of Watford’s Joao Pedro as they look for a striker ahead of the summer.

It is well known that Milan are in the market for a centre-forward in view of next season given that Olivier Giroud has just renewed but will turn 37 this year, Divock Origi has so far been disappointing and Zlatan Ibrahimovic might have already played his last game for the club.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan’s future in attack feature Joao Pedro, who the management have been left ‘bewitched’ by. The Brazilian has been one of the few stand-out performers in a difficult season for Watford, having scored 11 goals in the league.

He is just 21 years of age so fits the club’s project from a potential point of view, while he can also play in multiple positions across the forward line but is mostly a striker, having amassed 15 goal contributions for the Hornets.

  1. Don’t know what to make of this article that doesn’t mention Watford sitting mid table in the Championship.

It is starting to feel like the writing is on the wall. Arnautovic, an EFL Championship forward and another guy in Belgium with a questionable record.

We’re not going to have any money to spend, are we?

Aren’t we supposed to be signing a guy so that Giroud can be the back up and an expericenced opportunist off the bench?

I can understand that we need to have a number of irons in the fire, because of the competition, and because you need to have options to work around budgetary constraints, but these options are getting close to bizarre.

Cut it back. Target a few really good players, immediate first team players, get the deals done early and then lean in the Primavera squad for the depth you’d otherwise spend money getting out of a Championship team with no other assets.

    1. Don’t despair. While I understand where you’re coming from, most of these articles are rumors. We probably have scouts looking at lots of players and every time one is spotted at a game it creates conjecture. Us fans can only sit tight and wait for concrete news, which is usually a confirmation straight from the club.

  2. Well… he’s already been confirmed as a Brighton signing. Not like we were going to splash out the 30 Million for him either way. .
