CM: Milan left ‘bewitched’ by Udinese starlet who resembles Theo Hernandez

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan scouts have been very attentive to the domestic market and they are eyeing Udinese talent Mattia Marello as a potential signing for the future, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report that Camarda may not be the only 15-year-old to make his debut in Serie A this season. The Milan striker has rightly attracted the spotlight and press headlines, but Marello is rising up the ranks at Udinese and could be set to debut soon.

Marello is already often included in Gabriele Cioffi’s first team squad. The left wing-back has the record of youngest Italian debutant in the Primavera last season, shared with Matteo Palma who was born on the same day, 13 March.

This year Marello has 15 appearances with one goal and three assists between league, Primavera Coppa Italia and the Italy U17 team. He has a similar playing style to Theo Hernandez because he is a powerful dribbling and isn’t afraid to shoot but also has good technique and crossing.

The teenager has entrusted himself to a Slovenian group of agents (not a rare case given the proximity of Udine to the border) which relies on Marcelo Simonian’s South American agency, the same one that brought Bisseck to Inter.

However, it is Milan who are studying the potential coup having been left ‘bewitched’ by him, with Manchester City and the Red Bull group also keen. Being only 15 years old, he has not yet signed his first pro contract and 13 March 2024 is the date to be circled in red for him to do so.

  1. In the same veins that I hope Camarda (or any other academy talents really) doesn’t get poached by other oily clubs, I hope he stays at Udinese and until at least he hit 18-20. Udinese should receive favourable compensation for his exit. Teams should be encouraged to nurture youngsters and be handsomely rewarded for it.
