CM: Milan watching Atalanta defender but could only move under one condition

AC Milan are one of many teams watching Giorgio Scalvini’s development closely but they are on the back row of suitors at the moment, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report how Scalvini’s mature performances and his qualities have attracted the attention of scouts from the top Italian and European clubs for a year now. Juventus, Inter, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid have all been observing him closely.

He has an asking price of at least €40m and is under contract with Atalanta until 2027, so the player and his club still have plenty of time to calmly evaluate the offers that will arrive, but the time will come for him to make the leap to an elite club.

The most probable hypothesis could well be a transfer abroad. The two Serie A sides that have expressed most interest are Inter and Juve but they have budgetary problems. Milan, Napoli and Roma are watching carefully but would only make a move in the event of a sale.

Bayern, Liverpool and the other top European clubs do not have these problems and, if they decide to move concretely, they could take away the most promising young defender in Italian football.
