CM: Milan make new decision on young defender following recent success

This year has certainly been very special for Milan, currently at the top of the standings despite struggling with many injuries. The core of the team is seemingly strong enough to overcome anything.

Behind the positive results, of course, is a clear project with an ambitious but realistic goal. Paolo Maldini and his technical department, in hiring Stefano Pioli and signing the right players, have built something beautiful.

A good example of this is Pierre Kalulu, who arrived on a free transfer from Lyon in the summer. The right-back had not made any senior appearances for the French side, but the Rossoneri saw the potential and locked him down quickly.

And as a result of the injury struggles, the 20-year-old was forced to step in alongside Alessio Romagnoli at the back, playing in a position he’s only played in a few times at a youth level. Despite this, he has been a success for Milan.

Therefore, as reported by Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri have changed their strategy after initially eyeing a loan move for the youngster in January. Kalulu is pleased as well, now getting consistent minutes for the first team.
