CM: Milan midfielder could face over a month on the sidelines as test results return

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko could be set for over a month out after the injury he sustained in the win over Lazio, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com writes that there is no good news for Stefano Pioli regarding the condition of Bakayoko as the French midfielder has received the results of the tests he underwent, which make for rather disappointing reading.

The 27-year-old sustained an injury during the second half of the match against Lazio after he came off the bench for the first game of his second spell at the club, and today the results of the instrumental tests have shown hemorrhagic suffusion in the soleus of the left calf.

It is a problem that the Milan medical staff know well, as in May 2020 Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered the exact same problem, and it took him 35 days to recover. Obviously Bakayoko is 12 years younger, but it will take some caution.

  1. That debut v Lazio was classic Bakayoko. A finely tuned football machine. Maybe he should take off 2-3 months, or the rest of the year. Let’s play it safe with this maestro.

  2. We have a big problem in the defensive part of the midfield, Kessie want or doesn’t want to be here, Bennacer is in bad form and anyway not great defensively, Krunic is injured and not great defensively and Tonali is young and not great defensively.
I didn’t like Meïté, but maybe we should have kept him.
