CM: Milan must resolve Caldara dilemma – three clubs interested but his stay cannot be excluded

AC Milan must resolve the future of Mattia Caldara as he has returned from his loan spell with Atalanta, according to a report.

Calciomercato.com writes that there are two hypotheses on the table for the Italian defender: either he stays or he is sold, neither of which at the moment has more chance than the other after a season with just 132 minutes played.

Caldara’s value on the books is around €14m, a figure that no club are ready to put on the table, especially when considering that he earns €3m net per season until 2023, a huge obstacle to any negotiation.

Maldini knows this, but the market is long and there is time to find a solution. Genoa, Verona and Cagliari are interested in Caldara, but all only want a loan and also demand that the Rossoneri cover part of his salary.

It is a possibility that the Rossoneri management do not intend to take into consideration for now. If no gaps are opened, the 27-year-old defender will stay with the Rossoneri and become part of the depth.
