AC Milan must resolve the situation of several players who spent the 2021-22 season out on loan, especially with the change in FIFA regulations.
The regulation dictates that from next season a club can only have a maximum of three professional players on loan at another single club and vice versa. Each club can have a maximum of 8 professional players on loan and the same number out on loan; the upper limit will drop first to 7 in 2023-24 and then to 6 in 2024-25.
Calciomercato.com report that Tommaso Pobega will join up with the squad and will remain after his spell at Torino. He will complete a renewal despite the deadline of 2025 currently. Yacine Adli will also return to Milanello, having been bought last summer by the Rossoneri but left at Bordeaux.
Mattia Caldara and Léo Duarte will return as things stand but neither are part of the plans moving forward. Duarte looked set to be bought by Basaksehir but now things have changed, so given that the Brazilian is under contract until 2024, solutions are sought.
A new loan is looming for Lorenzo Colombo with Cagliari in Serie A. Alessandro Plizzari returns to Milan with only one year of contract remaining, but he could renew and stay and would take the place of Mirante whose deal is running out.
Marco Brescianini (returning from Monza, contract until 2024) is also set for a new loan, then there are a group of players with deals until 2023 who are returning from loan: Frank Tsadjout (Ascoli), Gabriele Bellodi (Alessandria), Leroy Abanda (Stade Rennais), Gabriele Capanni (Ternana) and Riccardo Tonin (Cesena).
Then there is Antonio Mionic (Aquila Montevarchi), Marco Frigerio (Lucchese), Luan Capanni (Grosseto), Alessandro Sala (Pro Sesto) and Sabino Signorile (Seregno).
