Among the players who has been insistently linked with various top sides around Europe is Maignan, with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United mentioned as having an interest during the window that has just closed.
Having managed to keep him, Calciomercato.com report that Giorgio Furlani and his team will now enter discussions over the extension of Maignan’s contract which is currently set to expire in 2026.

Now you know why so many left for nothing. We missed out the CL without him for half of a season. He is worth 6.5 to 8 million per season minimum. If we don’t pay a fair wage, someone else will. For someone among the top 5 worldwide in his position, this offer is insulting.
We don’t have to offer 12 to 15 million per year, we can’t afford that. The least they can do, is start at 6. Elite level players with irreplaceable skillsets and the intangibles he brings are worth way more than 4 million a year.
Offer him 4m euro nett + bonus 2m euro . He deserved that . He is one from top 3 best GK in europe . But if he is asking more than leao salary then it is time to consider his replacement

I’d say he’s great instead of just “good” but still. He has a long enough contract and Milan can’t afford to pay 6-10M€ for a player with the current incomes. Maybe when the new stadium is ready – if that ever happens. And even if it will, MM16 will be long gone before that.
