CM: Milan outcast wants Premier League move and is waiting for Sheffield United

Divock Origi may well get his chance to return to the Premier League as Sheffield United are showing interest in signing him, a report claims.

Before reading the update below, it is worth checking out our latest Substack piece on Origi as well as Alexis Saelemaekers and Charles De Ketelaere, which has some exclusive info on their respective situations.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Stefano Pioli’s words after the win over Bologna sent a clear signal to two players above all in Origi and Fode Ballo-Toure, as he said: “I don’t want unhappy players because they’ve known since Tuesday they’re not playing.”

The paradoxical situation concerns Origi, who had a good career at Liverpool with trophies won, arriving at Milan on a free transfer with high expectations but then hugely disappointing so far.

Due to his poor debut season in Italy, there is hardly a queue of suitors forming. An offer from Saudi Arabia that was rejected between June and July, and some vague contacts with Turkish clubs have been held.

The €4.5m net salary he earns at Milan is a big obstacle. Origi wants to return to the Premier League and Sheffield United have come forward in the last few hours, carrying out an in-depth enquiry but still not having made an official offer.

Milan hope to open a negotiation soon and find accommodation for a player that Pioli has made it clear he sees no place for.

  1. If Sheffield come to our rescue, and yes many Premier League teams can pay such a salary because of many of them are loaded.

Look up who owns Sheffield United.

    1. Our owner is the only member of the Saudi royal family with no money. He bought the Blades for peanuts and hasnt invested a penny since. We have just come off a transfer embargo, narrowly avoided administration, have been up for sale for 2 years and have the lowest budget in the premier League. Other than that we are loaded.

  2. Origi didn’t want to adjust his playing style to be target-man, and keep play like a trequartista who like dribble the ball & take long-shots. That’s why even Colombo surpass him in this Pioli’s 4-3-3.

Colombo play more like determined striker who like to play physically & put his back to goal.
