CM: Milan monitoring PAOK star Koulierakis and will scout him on Thursday

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan do not consider their centre-back department to be complete and they want a signing in that area to give Stefano Pioli some depth.

As Calciomercato.com recall, Matteo Gabbia has left on loan to Villarreal and while Mattia Caldara returned from his loan to Spezia, the 29-year-old former Juventus man is expected to leave the Rossoneri in the last two weeks of the window.

Hellas Verona are on his trail, given that they are also negotiating the sale of Isak Hien to Atalanta, who would replace Merih Demiral who is destined for Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.

In the meantime, Milan have set their sights on two young players: Marco Pellegrino of Atletico Platense and Konstantinos Koulierakis of PAOK.

The latter will play in the second leg of a UEFA Conference League qualifier against Hajduk Split tomorrow night. After the 0-0 draw in Croatia, the second leg will be played in Thessaloniki.

That will provide an opportunity for Milan’s scouts to see the 19-year-old at work against the former Inter player Marko Livaja, who now plays up front for Split.
