AC Milan have won just three of their first nine games this season and they have lost four, which has prompted reflections from the management regarding the squad.
According to Calciomercato.com, Milan are currently planning to be active during the January transfer window. First of all they will look to decide the fate of captain Davide Calabria, with whom contract extension are currently at a standstill and Galatasaray are interested.
A separation by the end of the season seems increasingly likely and this is why Geoffrey Moncada and co. are looking for a young profile who could compete with Emerson Royal for a starting spot. Alex Jimenez is an option but Tiago Santos of Lille continues to be monitored, who is more of a target than Matty Cash of Aston Villa or Kieran Trippier of Newcastle United.
In attack, the possibility of Luka Jovic being sold remains and if he were to leave then the directors would go in search of a new striker who can support and alternate with Alvaro Morata and Tammy Abraham. The situation would likely be resolved next summer though, and in the meantime Noah Okafor would fill in.
The ‘clear priority’ is to sign a new midfielder. Richard Rios of Palmeiras is an option but he has a €60m release clause, while Morten Frendrup of Genoa is worth around €20-25m but is also wanted by Brentford.
Samuele Ricci of Torino was already sought in the summer as an alternative to Youssouf Fofana and remains a target but his asking price is high. Johnny Cardoso of Real Betis, Lucas Gourna-Douath of Red Bull Salzburg and Carney Chukwuemeka of Chelsea are all on the list.
The latter in particular has been in the sights of Moncada for months, and the plan is to try secure a loan as early as January, taking advantage of his desire for a change of scenery on the player’s part.
“A separation by the end of the season seems increasingly likely…” 🍾🎉🍻🎈Of course we should’ve gone for Santos or Cash in the first place – I have no idea what these guys were smoking..
Thiago Santos was clearly available and Fonseca should have pushed for him and bring him along to Milan before the management wasted fund on Emerson
Unless Abraham starts scoring, he won’t be retained. We need two strikers and a left back.
With Fonseca game system I don’t see both Abraham and Morata scoring many goals. Cuz they’re more presence out ofthe box 18 than they should. Comapre to Giroud who is presence is felt more in the box 18
The problem though is that he doesn’t have a lot of choices. Considering how poor most of our midfielders are, he needs Morata and Abraham to put pressure on the opposition’s players. Had they been more free of the midfield and defensive duties, they might be more present in the opposition’s box, score and/or assist, but they have to make up for our shallow midfield.
The had more than 2 months to solve that during the transfer market.
Ever since Diaz went back to Madrid the coach Pioli and the management knows they need a real attacking midfielder behind the striker. The Fonseca playing same 4231 should know better and fight for it.
No excuse
But I am surprised when the management can’t even solve the LB position and back up for Theo for over 4 seasons now.
The management never brought back a deputy for Theo and it took them 3 summers to bring something close to a DM (Fofana who isn’t a DM).
Meanwhile we had like 7 CBs, 5 CMs, 6 RBs, 3 RWs most of whom are trash…
The systematic removal of all Italians from one of the greatest italian clubs of all time is extremely sad to witness, we have become our greatest enemy, internazionale
F*** MONCADA! Just leave already before you destroy the club for good.
I thought Ibra said we only needed 4 signings and we were complete???? Isn’t that what Ibra and Georgie Boy said in the summer?? And we signed all 4 targets and we are set???
So let me get this straight.
We are now after 2 players in Santos and Ricci who we could have had this past summer for under 15M and 20M respectively – and now we are to believe we are going to spend upwards of 40M on EACH player????? Hahahahahahaha!!!! Why Emerson isn’t the answer at starting RB?? Can’t we just use Kalulu?? Oh ya we gave him to a direct rival for 3.5M LOLOLO!!! What about the untouchable Musah??? Isn’t he there to be there perfect backup to Fofana? No? What do you mean he can’t play? Oh ya we bought him to keep the bench warm. Oh I know use Adli. Oh dam we can’t -we dumped him and he is now shining at Fiorentina lol
And now we need another striker? Why Jovic isn’t the answer? LOLOLO. Anyone have CDK’s number – looks solid as a SECOND striker or what about Maldini?? Oh damn I forgot we have him away for FREE!
Chuck isn’t the answer to back up Pulisic? Terraciano isn’t the answer to back up Theo??
Amazing how the Redbird Lovers celebrated last few mercatos because we now have “depth”. But it seems we have to buy more players to back up the depth that was supposed to back up the starters LMAO!!! Brilliant!!!
And to top it off we have a coach the players don’t listen to and hence don’t respect. I know can’t we sign Motta or Conte? Nope they are gone too lol.
Well done Redbird, well done. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
The moves discussed here are already conversations that were happening in the last window. They were trying to move calabria but they thought they would have Florenzi at least (who can play on both sides). They thought bennacar to Saudi was a done deal and would give them cash for another DM.
Regardless it doesn’t matter who they bring in because if they don’t play often they won’t play well no matter how expensive…. There are few players who can make a difference off the bench Like musah and okafor in the first game of the season to grab back a point. Most players need consistent minutes…
Backup to backup the depth.
😂🤣😂🤣
Well, well, well. It seems we’re yet again trying to get a new RB…
Honestly, even if by some miracle we end up winning the serie A or even the UCL, Moncada should be sacked.
the thing is that we had the money to buy but they spend these money on useless players
2 biggest club in Milan city soon it’ll be Internazionale Milan & Anti-nazionale Milan
