CM: Calabria and Florenzi not irreplaceable – Milan’s plan to sign a new starting right-back

AC Milan are in a position where they can now look to seize opportunities that emerge to strengthen the squad, with an eye on the right-back role.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan are in the market for a left-back who is able to be a more reliable deputy to Theo Hernandez and a centre-back as well, while a young centre-forward could arrive to add more cover for Olivier Giroud.

However, the right-back role could become topical again too, given that Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi – the first two choices for that role – are not irreplaceable.

Milan’s idea is to bring a new potential starter in, but a large investment in a new right-sided defender will be postponed to summer 2024.

Wilfried Singo of Torino and Ivan Fresneda of Real Valladolid should not be considered as priorities because the former does not convince Pioli and the latter has a large asking price.
