CM: Milan put talks on hold over €25m-rated playmaker due to doubts over Maldini

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have put the negotiation to sign attacking midfielder Matias Zaracho from Racing Club on hold for the time being, a report claims.

At the moment, a number of different outlets are reporting that Milan are heading for yet another ‘year zero’ in the summer, this time one led by Ralf Rangnick and one without the presence of Paolo Maldini or Zvonomir Boban.

Despite this, links between Milan and Zaracho have not stopped, and Fabrizio Romano recently reported in an editorial for Calciomercato.com that the Argentine is more than an idea.

The journalist stated that he has even given the green light to make the move, but is valued at €25m by his club, while Tuttosport have also reported Milan’s interest.

According to the latest from Calciomercato.com however, Milan have put negotiations on standby regarding the 22-year-old, while the uncertainty surrounding Maldini’s future as technical director cited as the main reason.

Given the apparently imminent revolution, it will be necessary to see what the new management want to do in terms of recruitment.
