CM: Milan firmly in Rabiot race with long-term contract offer ready

By Oliver Fisher -

Things seem to be heating up with regards to AC Milan’s summer mercato, and a report has claimed that they consider themselves to still be firmly in the race for Adrien Rabiot.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Milan management continues to work on the market to strengthen the squad available to Paulo Fonseca and Rabiot is still a name circled in their notebook, available on a free after the expiration of his contract with Juventus and still looking for a new club.

There is less than a month to go now until the first game of the Serie A season against Torino. While the team are preparing to fly to the United States (departure Thursday afternoon) to play against Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona, there is now more urgency to get signings done.

Despite the fact that Rabiot’s mother-agent Veronique is sounding out the Premier League market, to date none of the clubs probed (Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United) have yet made a concrete move, nor have Real Madrid who had been linked to him.

Everything is still open and Milan – who can put on the table the possibility of playing in the next Champions League, an important factor for Rabiot  – have already studied the margins of a potential deal.

There is no will to match the conditions of the latest offer presented by Cristiano Giuntoli and Juventus, a two-year contract worth €7m net per season plus €1m in bonuses, but they could offer around €5.5m per year but with a longer duration, of four or five years.

  1. Heating up 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.

Italian football as a whole is STONE COLD and is now safely and securely outside of the European super league which consists of England Spain Germany and Paris.

Someone in Italy must stand up and do something regards finance as nothing is going to change it’ll get worse.

  2. This is very stupid if true. Dont embarassing yourself with that offer. He wants more money , thats why he reject juve offer. Beside he is not DMF , just another box to box player, his defensive rate are not good too

  3. The reason why Milan are going for Rabiot is that Fonseca wants to play 4-3-3. Rabiot fits like a glove in a 3 man midfield and the style of play Fonseca likes to practice. Furthermore, Rabiot would strengthen Milan’s image as a club who wants to win, which helps in getting more top players. It could also be a way to keep our french stars in the team.

Targeting Rabiot makes perfect sense from all angles. Even if he gets 7-9 million per year, that is only 30-35 million for the whole operation. That amount is a steal for a player like Rabiot!

  4. Rabiot deal can only happen at the end of the window if he still hasn’t found anyone to pay him 9mil a year in England. Only the numbers come down will Milan entertain it. Otherwise it’s all smoke.
